This page is designed to be a resource and information page to those of you who might like to play in the Northwest and British Columbia mountains. It is composed entirely of links to such resources as skiing, climbing, weather, avalanches and government. The links have been preselected for quality, usefulness, and applicability to the this wonderful area. U of W Atmospheric Science  Local reports, mountain weather, maps, satellite images and extensive other information.

NOAA  A good weather & Climate roundup with storm & fire information. Check out their Metrocast.

IWIN  Interactive Weather Information Network. Also from NOAA.

Canadian Meteorological Centre  Concise, detailed, easy to navigate, with radar and satellite images.

Weather Office  Environmental Canada's very good graphic weather page for all of Canada.

Seattle Weather Underground  Very good local weather that is more detailed then most and with additional information and features.

Washington Online Weather  An easy to use site hosted by GORP that provides quick mountain weather without a lot of detail.

WxUSA-Seattle  This site is good for planning as it has links to other Washington and US cities and other weather sites as well as weather cams, and satellite views.

Intellicast. Weather for Active People  Search for a weather forecast by outdoor activity and region.

Seattle Insider Weather  Seattle area weather & doppler, air quality, satellite, cams & links.

Taking Winter by Storm  From GovLink Washington a regional Winter resource and links page.

Weather Talk Net  It claims to be the only weather search engine. It is a good links search for weather phenomena, climatology, and regional weather resources.

NOAA National Severe Storms Labatory  Something of a different nature if your interested in where current research is going.

CoolTrails  A nice place to read or publish trip reports, with trail guides for B.C.,WA., OR., and ID.

Washington Trails Association  A well respected organization with good information, including up to date trail reports.

Pacific NW Hiking Guide  An easy to use page with trail guides, with maps and links to other NW pages.

Brian's Pacific Crest Trail Info  Many resource links and information about the trail. A very useful page.

Pacific Crest Trail Association  A good resource for this great trail, AKA The Cascade Crest Trail, that runs from Mexico to BC. Check out their trail condition pages.

Pacific Northwest Trail Guide  The PNT, not to be confused with the Cascade Crest Trail. This trail runs from the Continental Divide to the Pacific Ocean.

GORP   Great Outdoor Recreation Pages. NW National Forests section of this extensive site. Lots of information.

The Go Guide  "Internet's largest outdoor site. (Is that a good reason to go there?) There's a women's section and you can select your state for good trail guides.

Trails.com  A large national site with info on hiking, mountain and road biking, and sea and white water kayaking. They have good, free topo map and trail finders.

VTrail Washington State Hiking Trail Guide  Search for trails Aphabetically, by number, by highway or by region.

Take A Hike  The PI's quite good database of hikes by county with descriptions and some other links.

Trailfinder  From the Seattle Sidewalks site, a very useful tool if you don't know where you want to go.

British Columbia Adventure Network  A very good BC outdoor resources page with extensive links to all kinds of stuff.

Signpost Magazine  A local, small, long lived, friendly, and quite good hiking magazine. Good trail reports.

Cascade Volcano Page  Click on the link to one of our six volcanos for photos and info.

Mount St. Helen Observatory  A live volcano camera at Johnston Ridge Observatory.

Northwest Outdoor Guide  A Northwest info & links page with a lean toward climbing.

Darrington Rock Climbing  A guide to climbing the wonderful granite domes near Darrington.

Washington Ice Climbing  An under construction database of ice climbs in Washington. Send in your information on routes

Canadian Rockies Climbing Guide  A great resource. Information on climbing, ski touring, weather, ice climbing, and local areas in the Rockies

North Cascades National Park  A good concise report on the park's campgrounds, roads, and trail Conditions.

Park Net   A very dry national park link site. They used to have quite good regional national park pages but they did away with them in favor of this slow and colorless site.

Pacific NW Region, United States Forest Service  Much better example of a .gov site than Park Net. Good resources and links.

USDA Forest Service  USFS national page. It has enough additional resources to be worth inclusion here.

Olympic National Forest  Good USFS site. Ranger stations, information, links, and trail info.

Nature of the Northwest  This quite good US Forest Service site describes itself as a "Virtual Visitor Center.

ReserveUSA  The National Recreation Reservation Service.(NRRS)Online reservations for 1700 different locations managed by the Forest service and Corps of Engineers.
